Today is the day

The sun is shining, the gardens are in full bloom, and the town of Perth, Ontario, is ready to welcome you to the CFUW Perth & District’s annual Home & Garden Tour. This year, we’ve woven a literary thread through our stunning venues, inviting you to explore homes and gardens inspired by the pages of beloved books. Whether you’re a fan of classic literature, modern novels, or simply the beauty of nature, this tour promises a day of inspiration and delight.

What Awaits You

Step into a world where gardens tell stories and homes echo the charm of literature. This year’s tour features:

8 gardens, each designed with a nod to literary themes—from secret gardens to poetic landscapes.
4 homes where architecture and decor pay homage to the timeless settings of famous novels.
A picturesque amble along the Tay River, perfect for reflecting on the stories that have shaped our imaginations.
Live performances by local musicians, adding a melodic backdrop to your journey.
Artwork by talented local artists, displayed throughout the tour to spark your creativity.

Your Tour Guide

This is a self-guided adventure, so you’re free to start at any garden or home on the tour. Here’s how to make the most of your day:

Present your ticket at your first stop to receive a wristband for entry to all other locations. If you need one, printed maps will be available.
Home monitors will be at each site to answer questions and share insights about the literary connections.
Tour Headquarters is at the Royal Canadian Legion, 26 Beckwith Street East. Stop by to:
- Pick up a map
- Purchase additional tickets
- Rest in the shade
- Enjoy your pre-ordered garden picnic lunch (available for pickup between 11 AM and 2 PM)
- Use the facilities
- Refill your water bottle
- Enter our amazing raffle for a chance to win one of 15 unique packages, in addition to one of 3 Grand Prizes.

A Few Reminders

No pets, except service dogs (outside only), allowed; No smoking allowed, inside or outside; This event is for guests aged 12 or older; Not all homes can accommodate wheelchairs or walkers; No food or drink inside the homes please; Booties for indoor use will be provided; Garden photos are fine, but no indoor shots and Please look but do not touch the plants.

Plus -- a reminder that five of our homes are "country" properties, where grass is in abundance.

A Purpose Beyond Beauty

All proceeds from the tour support CFUW Perth & District’s financial bursary program, which helps women in the Perth area pursue post-secondary education. Additionally, funds contribute to our local advocacy and educational activities in libraries, community agencies, and elementary schools.
